2024 Expo Layout

We are using a layout similar to 2023. This year, there will be a designated indoor live demonstration area in the Equine Barn, training classes (eligible for Con-Ed) in the PA Preferred Banquet Hall, and an expanded outdoor display/exhibit area. Historical placement is being taken into consideration for our loyal, longtime vendors returning in 2024. Our goal is for the exhibitors and guests to have an amazing experience and that includes having the opportunity to see a variety of products, services, and apparatus in all areas of the show.

To view the individual spaces, please click on the hall name to view the layout detail.

Internet Needs

If you require internet to conduct business, we strongly recommend that you contact a service provider to install a wired connection. Here are the providers:

  • Verizon – contact 1-800-479-1919 to request service.
  • Comcast – email Key_BusinessSalesSupport@cable.comcast.com to request service. Provide contact information, dates of when service is needed, Farm Show Complex and then the order. Comcast can provide internet, voice, and television service. An active email address is needed for temporary service through Comcast.

The Farm Show Complex & Expo Center offers free wireless internet service throughout the facility. As with any Wi-Fi service, the connectivity level will vary throughout the Complex & Expo Center due to your location and other variables. While they intend to offer this free service at all times, The Complex & Expo Center cannot guarantee that it will always be available. The free internet service is not secure, and you should take precautions to ensure your computers are protected.

Venue

FIRE EXPO will be held at The Farm Show Complex & Expo Center located at 2300 N Cameron Street, Harrisburg, PA 17110. The Complex is now cashless, therefore parking and concessions are cashless.

Parking Passes

Due to The Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex & Event Center parking policy changes, we are no longer able to provide complimentary parking passes to exhibitors. If you would like to pre-purchase one day parking passes, you may do so with your registration, or you may purchase by credit card at the venue when you enter The Complex. Parking passes are only required on show days not on the day of set-up. All pre-purchased parking passes will be included in your registration packet, which you will receive on set-up day.

For trailers, a one-day parking pass is $25 and can be pre-purchased with registration or purchased at the gate. The trailer pass utilizes two spaces to ensure enough room for your tow vehicle and trailer. A parking pass is not required on set-up day, Thursday, May 16th. The Complex will have security on site Thursday to sell trailer parking passes for show days at the ticket booths as exhibitors come into the parking lot. There is an off-site trailer parking location on Elmerton Avenue for no charge.

Space Assignments

As explained above, all space will be assigned by the FIRE EXPO Committee. The location of assigned space may be changed by the Committee to prevent congestion, avoid confusion in organization names, solve competitive conditions, or to benefit the overall appearance of the show.

The Five or Die Culture – 90 Minute Lecture

Presented by: Chief Michael Horst, Retired Senior Battalion Chief – Harrisburg Bureau of Fire FAST Rescue Solutions

8:30 am – 10:00 am

Sadly, the fire service averages around 100 Line of Duty Deaths (LODD) each year. FAST Rescue Solutions, LLC is committed to being a part of reducing that number. This 90-minute presentation is a discussion of the MAYDAY event and firefighter rescue. Using statistics from Chief Don Abbotts PROJECT MAYDAY we review identified causes of the MAYDAY and discuss measures for prevention. Special attention is given to the current status of NFPA 1407 and thoughts on its effects on fire department operations.
The focus will shift to what we refer to as the “Five or Die” – One of the fire chief’s worst-case scenarios: one of their own, down, unconscious, and not breathing in an IDLH environment. We will explore how to be better prepared through a candid self-assessment and how to train to defeat those worst-case scenarios. We stress that the rescue of a down firefighter starts with the firefighter next to them. Rescue techniques used with, and without, an HRD like the FAST Board will be discussed. We hope to allow the attendants to learn how to solve the common firefighter rescue obstacles of weight, force, and friction. Finally, we engage in a candid discussion on how an organization can perform a self-assessment to determine how well they will handle an ‘incident-within-an-incident’ when one of their own is in a real-life “Five or Die” scenario. This presentation is suited for all levels of the fire service but is particularly important for officers and leadership.

Tower Rescue Awareness (DOH Con-Ed Eligible)

Presented by: Med-Tex Rescue U

8:30 am -10:30 am

Cellular and radio antennas exist on billboards, transmission towers, buildings, rooftops, telephone poles, water towers and actual cell towers. This course presents information designed to keep responders safe and includes scene size-up, incident management, hazard recognition, radiofrequency (RF) hazards, tower types (including tower cranes, water towers and smokestacks), rescue considerations, fall protection requirements, use of fire apparatus for rescue, case studies and more. A tactical response worksheet will be provided as a reference during this program. This program meets requirements outlined in NFPA 1006-2021 Chapter 4.1 (Tower Rescue Awareness).
