Distinguished Service Award was given to Steven R. Hastings, member of Quarryville Fire Company. Steve has been an active member of Quarryville Fire Company since November of 1980; has been one of the most active and dedicated firefighters of QFD ever since. Steve is a dedicated driver and has held various positions within the company over the years as Chief Engineer and on the Board of Directors. Steve has also worked in the fire apparatus field for many years. In his 45 years of service he has shown what a true member of the fire service is all about by constantly working to make the Quarryville Fire Company better in serving the community.

Medal of Valor was awarded to Christian and Emily Larrick, members of New Danville Fire Co.. On January 10, 2025 Assistant Chief Christian Larrick and Emily Larrick, both members of the New Danville Fire Company came upon a serious vehicle accident that had just occurred involving a tanker truck and a passenger car. They immediately stopped to render assistance; found that two women and two children were trapped in the passenger vehicle which was actively on fire burning. Assistant Chief Larrick used a dry chemical extinguisher from his vehicle to work on fire suppression. With the car still burning, Emily Larrick pulled the mother of the children from the vehicle, sustaining minor burns to her hands in the process; then began patient care until the arrival of EMS. At the same time Assistant Chief Larrick was working with bystanders to get the two children out of the vehicle and start patient care. The selfless acts by the Larricks went above and beyond during this incident performing life saving acts and a positive outcome.
